Hotel Housekeeper (Full Time & Part Time)

We are looking for a passionate housekeeper who has an eye for the small details.  We want someone who will ‘own’ the cleanliness and appearance of the Shandon Hotel and ensure that our high expectations are maintained in relation to cleanliness throughout the resort.

Responsibilities will include:

  • To greet guests in a warm, friendly manner
  • To clean up to 12 hotel bedrooms per shift to the agreed standards
  • To inspect room before signing it over to the supervisor, ensuring that the necessary checklist has been actioned
  • To promote and sell the Hotel’s facilities at all times
  • To ensure that any lost items are declared and recorded in line with hotel policy
  • To deal with any guest requests for extra linen, towels or toiletries promptly and professionally
  • To report any maintenance issues immediately
  • To adhere to all Company policies including Customer Care, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Cash Handling etc
  • Effective communication with other employees to ensure the day to day business runs smoothly

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role in a hotel
  • Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service
  • Must be a team player with the ability to multi task
  • Must be standards driven and detail orientated, with the desire to progress within the hospitality industry
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Communicate fluently in English (written & oral).
  • You must have the ability to walk and stand during your entire shift.  This role requires the ability to push a vacuum, reach, stretch and bend in routine to carry out daily tasks you must also have the ability to lift 25-35 pounds intermittently during your working day.

Reports to the Executive Housekeeper.

The role will involve shift work meaning you will be required to work 5 days out of a 7 day week (weekend work also will be involved)

Food & Beverage Service Staff (Full Time, Part Time & Seasonal)

Responsibilities will include:

  • To greet guests in a warm, friendly manner
  • To ensure the work stations are correctly set up ready for service
  • To inspect service area prior to beginning service to ensure all the necessary tools are to hand that the area is neat, clean and tidy
  • To promote and sell the resorts facilities at all times
  • To ensure that any lost items are declared and recorded in line with hotel policy
  • To serve customers professionally, promptly and with warmth
  • To upsell the various food, beverages and other facilities in the hotel
  • To report any maintenance issues immediately
  • To adhere to all Company policies including Customer Care, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Cash Handling etc
  • Effective communication with other employees to ensure the day to day business runs smoothly

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role in a hotel
  • Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service
  • Must be a team player with the ability to multi task

Experienced Bar Tender

Responsibilities will include:

  • To serve customers professionally, promptly and with warmth

Sales & Guest Relations Executive

Reporting to the Resorts Reservations Manager.

Position Summary:

The Sales & Guest Relations Executive responds to in bound customer service calls with the objective of selling and confirming room and other offerings (e.g., spa, wedding, events, food and beverage) with an emphasis on world-class customer service. The Sales & Guest Relations Executive will qualify, gather, organise, record and execute bookings in a professional manner within pre-defined parameters and standards (which may change) to optimise revenue for the property as outlined above. Processes bookings via a variety of distribution channel means (i.e. online, email, 3rd party, in-house forms, voicemail, etc.) when assigned. Achieve personal and team related revenue and departmental goals. Provide correct and timely responses to guest requests for general information regarding the property to include, but not limited to, room packages, hours of operation, seasonal offerings, and other special events as communicated via ads, marketing and public relations. Ensures business is accurately booked, communicated and executed to perfection with service delivery in accordance with hotel/resort standards. Effectiveness will be measured and evaluated frequently for consistency and adherence to performance requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Establish clear expectations for customers throughout the sales process.
  • Be the benchmark example for service delivery and execution – personalise products and services.
  • Transfers accurate, complete and timely information to operating departments within the hotel/resort.
  • Effectively resolves guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process. Brings issues to the attention of Leadership Team as appropriate.
  • Share recommendations to eliminate guest defects and service issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of operating hours for each revenue center.
  • Demonstrate strong organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel/resort terms and conditions.
  • Use strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing); utilise confident telephone skills and etiquette.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of the property and events to act as a Resort Knowledge Expert and sell a memorable experience to guests in all capacities.
  •  Work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a synergistic team
  • Respond to all customer comments online & offline
  • Host resort ‘show arounds’ with the view to sell accommodations, spa, weddings & events
  • Support the Reservations Manager & Senior Management in any administration work as required
  • To attend regional sales trips
  • Under direction, to manage all social media platforms which will include agreed campaigns and responding to all enquiries
  • To ensure all online and offline marketing messages and literature is up to date and in line with strategy
  • Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes; can bring a sale to closure quickly at a high return rate
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of basic revenue management and need time strategies
  • Ability to influence others to up sell products and services with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) – possesses confident telephone skills and etiquette
  • Ability to use reservations software
  • Ability to accurately input and access data
  • Must be able to prioritise, organise and follow-up in a timely manner
  • Must be able to work cohesively with other departments, co-workers as part of a synergistic team
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including, days, nights, weekends, and holidays
