Shandon Hotel & Spa Continues to add to their amazing year one!
Just recently Shandon Hotel & Spa was ranked 15 out of 820 hotels in Ireland on the largest travel site in the world, TripAdvisor. This is an exceptional achievement which puts the Shandon Hotel & Spa in the top 1.8% of hotels in Ireland.
Carolynne Harrison, General Manager of the Shandon Resort has commended her team for their passion and flair in creating a warm, professional, comfortable and very enjoyable guest experience. We chose our team for attitude over experience and we invested heavily in staff training said Carolynne, she believes that this is the key to their success in achieving such positive feedback because you can teach skills, but you cannot teach someone how to be motivated, positive, passionate or driven!
Since the Shandon opened last Easter, the hotel has won ‘Best Luxury Hotel Europe’ at the Luxury Travel Awards, RSVP Magazine’s Best Resort Spa and just recently the resort has been shortlisted for 7 categories at the 2017 Irish Hotel Awards. The key management will attend a gala ball in the Sheraton Athlone on the 21st March where they are in for the following highly coveted awards,
Boutique Hotel of the Year
Hotel Bar of the Year
Luxury Hotel of the Year
Romantic Hotel of the Year
Spa Hotel of the Year
Wedding Hotel of the Year
Hotel Restaurant of the Year
Not only has the resort been successful as being recognised for the supreme product they are offering they are also enjoying ‘record breaking’ business results.
Year to date, their occupancy is over 85% since April 2016 until today. This is a fantastic achievement considering that the Shandon pre-opening would have been a seasonal hotel, however, its current management have opened all year and maintained the jobs of their 115 staff right through.
The Shandon Hotel & Spa has one of the most beautiful locations with each bedroom making the most of its surrounding area with a guaranteed sea view from every room. The luxury spa has been remarked as ‘world class’ with its state of the art thermal suite boasting a vitality pool, massage jets, heated loungers, foot spas, salt grotto, herbal sauna and the popular outdoor Canadian hot-tub, all of which have the most breathtaking views. Not only can you look at the splendor of the Wild Atlantic Way but you can immerse yourself in it because the hotel is just a short walk from the Blue Flag, Marble Hill Beach which is renowned for swimming, surfing and various watersports.
Carolynne Harrison, Resort General Manager is looking forward to a very successful year ahead along with some very exciting developments that will only boost the Shandon’s profile in the market and continue to compliment her vision which is to be recognized as one of the leading 4 star resorts in Donegal and the Wild Atlantic Way, providing the finest in Irish hospitality with passion & flair.
